Wakeboarding is a modality in which, instead of skis, a board similar to the one used for snowboarding is used. Likewise, bindings are used for the feet. The objective is to perform different tricks, mainly taking advantage of the wave produced by the trawler.
The first step is to get out of the water with the wake board and achieving enough speed and balance to slide over the water. To do this we must start with the body in a fetal position and half out of the water the board must be perpendicular position to it. Your arms should be stretched out while and hugging knees.
When the boat begins to accelerate, gently, turn the wake board so that the tip points to the stern of the boat. Then we as if we were sitting up from a chair, but letting the boat lift us and without any abrupt movements.
Finally, once you’re out of the water on the board and gliding on the water, we maintain an upright position with our knees bent and making sure our weight is on the back legs and on a slightly upright posture.
The first trick you’ll want to learn, once you’ve mastered the technique of jumping, is the wake to wake (W2W). In this trick, you jump on one side of the trail and land on the opposite end.
You should also start with a few water surfaces tricks such as spins at 180 degrees and 360 degrees.
You can then try out more advanced tricks such as grabs (griping wake board in different styles like Indy, Nose grab, etc.), rotation (there are also many variations as back, handle pass, where we turn passing the handle grip behind our back, etc.), inverted (back-roll, where a backward cartwheel or a flip is performed, HS front flip or cartwheel, and many others).
