General Information

Wakeboarding is a modality in which, instead of skis, a board similar to the one used for snowboarding is used. Likewise, bindings are used for the feet. The objective is to perform different tricks, mainly taking advantage of the wave produced by the trawler.

Técnica de wakeboard

The first step is to get out of the water with the wake board and achieving enough speed and balance to slide over the water. To do this we must start with the body in a fetal position and half out of the water the board must be perpendicular position to it. Your arms should be stretched out while and hugging knees.

When the boat begins to accelerate, gently, turn the wake board so that the tip points to the stern of the boat. Then we as if we were sitting up from a chair, but letting the boat lift us and without any abrupt movements.

Finally, once you’re out of the water on the board and gliding on the water, we maintain an upright position with our knees bent and making sure our weight is on the back legs and on a slightly upright posture.

Wake board tricks

The first trick you’ll want to learn, once you’ve mastered the technique of jumping, is the wake to wake (W2W). In this trick, you jump on one side of the trail and land on the opposite end.

You should also start with a few water surfaces tricks such as spins at 180 degrees and 360 degrees.

You can then try out more advanced tricks such as grabs (griping wake board in different styles like Indy, Nose grab, etc.), rotation (there are also many variations as back, handle pass, where we turn passing the handle grip behind our back, etc.), inverted (back-roll, where a backward cartwheel or a flip is performed, HS front flip or cartwheel, and many others).

Wakeboard tricks

  • • Once in the water with the boots on, we try that our body Both the wake board become one pack. To do this bend your legs and maximize our move our back forward.
  • It is very Important to keep our arms fully outstretched, hands together in the grip handle, which should be just above our wake board.
  • With the rope slightly in tensed, and our body position as mentioned above, we give the ok to begin to pull the rope.
  • At that time, we will maintain the position and will push our wake board with the toes. try the maximum flat position on water surface. Otherwise, if we do not force the tips, or press on the heels, the inclination of the wake board in the water in the starting position is not correct and it will be virtually impossible to get up.
  • During these moments when the rope or boat are pulling, you must maintain our initial position a few seconds to gain speed. During These moments, we try to force from foot or the other foot to keep the board in a perpendicular in our direction, without turning it to maintain our balance.
  • Once on the water, turn ninety degrees to bring it toward the boat or the rope.
Having left the water position your wake board towards the boat onto the rope that is pulling you, bending your back leg and stretching the front leg slightly, to maintain our weight on the back leg and your back stretched and straight with your body.
